Give the item a name people will recognise — "18V hammer drill", "A7 IV" — then fill in brand, model, category, and serial when you have them. Status tracks whether it is in use, stored, loaned, retired, or lost.

The free plan stores ten items. GearSync Pro is unlimited.

Free accounts can store common spec keys such as chuck, voltage, wattage, weight, size, capacity, RPM, and battery. Values are stored as text so "13mm" and "18V" both work.

GearSync Pro lets you add arbitrary key/value fields — SKU, thread pitch, firmware, whatever the item needs. The database blocks custom keys on the free plan, so the limit holds even if a client is out of date.

Record purchase date, price, currency (NZD by default), vendor, warranty expiry, and an optional service interval in months. These fields are available on the free plan.
