How syncing works | GearSync
Offline first
Every change you make is written to your device straight away and queued for the server. Nothing waits on a network request, so adding a drill on a job site feels the same as adding one at a desk.
If two devices edit the same item
When the same item is edited on two devices, the most recent change to each field wins, so an edit to a serial on your phone and an edit to notes on your laptop both survive. Deletions are kept as tombstones so a record removed on one device does not reappear from another.
Photos and receipts
Photos and receipts are the one part that needs a connection, because the file itself has to reach storage. If an upload fails, the item record is still saved and you can add the file again once you are back online.
